SOLARBUS WHAT ?

What is the Solarbus ?

The Solarbus is a 1972 Bristol VRT doubledecker bus converted to a luxury motorcaravan,with Lounge,kitchen,shower room,toilet/washroom,master bedroom and spare room using mainly recycled industrial components and timber.

As well as some modifications to the chassis and bodywork it has been fitted with a solar/wind/generator/mains AC/DCC domestic power supply,hot and cold pumped running water,mobile Nokia internet access and phone/fax,hot pluggable ISDN,sattelite TV,Kenwood/Alpine MP3 sound system,remote control electric lockable doors,Clifford alarm system as well as a full LPG gas cooking and heating system.The fridge is a 3 way 240VAC/12VDC/gas unit.

It has been constantly lived in since 1994 in the UK and then Portugal.We have done the journey 3 times using the Bilbao-Portsmouth ferry.
